18,600 miles

Needed a new wheel bearing. Driver's front wheel. At maybe 16,000 mi, we started noticing a loudness in the cab when driving at speeds of 35mph+, like the engine was revving at 4-5000rpm, though the tachometer only said 2000. Could tell it wasn't the engine, though (drove up to 40 one night and turned the engine off, still noticed the noise. Thought it could be tire wear?? Took it in to get oil changed and Scholfield Honda in Wichita diagnosed and corrected the problem.

Metallic scraping noise low speeds

Today, as my wife drove home, she called just before she got in. There was a metallic scraping sound when she was driving our 2009 Honda Civic at low speeds (under 10 mph). It sounded like it was coming from the front of the car (driver's side?), and it seemed like something was in the wheel, or dragging below the car (I looked underneath, nothing dragging). It was not there when she drove in reverse, and it went away when we accelerated past 10mph. The scraping noise would return, sporadically, as we slowed (I had her drive me around the block). The car hasn't even had its first oil change yet (3400ish miles), and we're taking it in to the dealership tomorrow to get it checked out. More later...

p.s. Someone rubbed up against the driver's side front bumper a couple weeks ago (slight white paint scrapings; no note on the windshield, of course) and the bumper now sits about a quarter of an inch out of true (the seam where it meets the other body panel isn't quite flush). I doubt the two are related, but I will let you know what it costs to get that taken care of, too.
